The light and dark fabrics and the size of the strips are what make this quilt both fun and intriguing. It is what gives you the illusion of a deep well or a pyramid. You will have enough Jelly Roll strips leftover from making the couch quilt to use for the strips on the lap size quilt. You would just need to purchase the background and border fabric.
